Scott Harris -- the force behind the Francesca's restaurants, including Francesca's on Chestnut, located upstairs -- is behind this small-plate, wine-focused restaurant. Offering a brick-walled, cave-like feel (the name means "underground wine bar" in Italian), the intimate Gold Coast eatery serves Italian-themed bites. Menu offerings include more than a half-dozen types of bruschetta -- creative combos using pear and taleggio and prosciutto, porcini and fontina cheese -- plus olives and other antipasti. Although all guests are welcome, Harris hopes to cater to area restaurant/nightclub industry employees, and, as a result, Di Sotto's doors stay open until 12 a.m. on weeknights and 1 a.m. on weekends.
